Exploring emotions through self expression.
Art Time
Art Time is a creative group session to help lower anxiety,
improve self-esteem, regulate behaviour and advance social skills.
This form of therapy allows a space for children to recognize, express and release feelings they may not have otherwise been able to express in a supported environment where other therapy alone may not be enough.
Creating a platform to illustrate emotions and feelings allows a child to translate events in their life and gain therapeutic solutions within their own realm of understanding. Social skills are developed within Art Time sessions through exploring skills such as communication, empathy and connection along with accepting others’ perceptions whilst forming relationships and trust.
Art Time sessions explore cognitive development recognising colours and shapes, themes, problem solving, choices, consequences and decision making from visual and expressive communication.
There is no judgement nor focus on skill in this group session, hence no mistakes can be made.
