Hot Tip Episode #6: The main reason for creating good quality time with your children

Parenting Tip – How many times in a day do you hear yourself going, “in a minute”, “in a minute”?

It’s Hot Tip Tuesday and we’re sitting at one of the OT’s because we’ve had quite a few birthdays so there’s a lot of balloons this week.

Our tip today is going to be one for parenting. We do lots of triple P stuff and give lots of parenting tips and I thought this one would be really helpful for some of you parents.

How many times in a day do you hear yourself going, “in a minute”, “in a minute”?

Really good for our children to have good quality time. Make sure that if you’re doing the dishes and the child wants to come up and show you something, you stop for that 30 seconds, bend down, make eye contact and give them that 30 seconds of your undivided attention.

You’ll find that your children will stop nagging you, they’ll stop misbehaving because they really just want to show you and share their interest with you so be mindful of how many times you say, “in a minute” for this week and make sure you give your child some undivided attention.
